Stitching Stories Through Geometry

$134.00

Saturday June 13, 2026
10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Instructor: Rafia Shafiq

Materails Fee: $30 (paid directly to the Instructor)
Students: 12

In this workshop, geometric forms will serve as a canvas on which participants can build their own visual narratives. Prior to the workshop, each registered participant will be asked to submit a personal image or theme via email. This could be drawn from daily life, a cherished memory, animals, family, or scenes from city life. The artist will then translate these into stylized geometric designs, suitable for embroidery.

Participants will embroider these custom patterns, learning traditional phulkari techniques while also engaging with contemporary storytelling through thread. The final outcome will be a personal embroidered hoop: a unique piece that captures each participant’s story within the framework of phulkari tradition.
