Fosshape: On the Body
Saturday November 1 + Sunday November 2
10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Instructor: Leisa Rich
Materials Fee: $60 (paid directly to the Instructor)
Students: 12
In this two-day intensive workshop, students will spend the first day experimenting with a revolutionary 2D material called Fosshape (a unique, low melt, polyester fibre that, when exposed to high heat easily hardens into dimensional forms) using simple methods of construction that include hand and machine stitching, ruching, fusing, distressing, and stretching.
The second day will be spent applying the techniques learned to create one hat or headpiece, neck or shoulder piece, or wrist/ankle/arm wearable.
During the workshop, each student will be guided in the realization of how this extraordinary material can be applied specifically in their personal creative practice. Suitable for costumers, wearable artists, designers and artists at all skill levels.
